“Just wanted to say thanks for all the effort and support you provided last week. If they ever introduce an Olympic event for ploughing through excessive bureaucracy you’d be a dead cert for gold”
We’re very happy to have a new member of the Urban IT team. Chris Owen has slotted into his new position heading up Operations perfectly, and we’re sure that you’ll enjoy working with Chris as much as we’re doing. Chris will be introducing himself over the coming weeks.
Here’s a brief introduction from Chris himself:
“I’d been working with Hewlett-Packard for eight-plus years as a resource controller, scheduling and liaising with hardware engineers to resolve onsite problems. I handled new kit installations, parts sourcing and managed fault-fixing incidents with third parties. The work was good, but the corporate world of the massive organisation wasn’t where I wanted to stay. I’m delighted that Sam has given me an opportunity to join a very different sort of organisation.
“When I’m not working, my passion is music. In the past, I’ve gigged all over the place – the UK, Europe, even China, and I’m still playing and recording music at home, sometimes solo, sometimes with ex-band mates. I gave up playing football to focus on my music but found I missed that too and have now returned to playing in a local team. Of course, I still dream of being called up to the Everton squad but know that my role in that great team will always be in support.
“I’ve got to admit that I’m settling down – just a bit. My girlfriend and I have just bought our first house and already the household has increased in size. The patter of tiny feet is courtesy of our little dog, Alan! There’s a lot going on for me, right now, but bring the new challenges on. I’m ready for them.”
